This Torsion Kit is designed to increase all-around clutching, gain acceleration, quicker back shifting, better response, & top speed in some cases. Engine reverse found on 2-stroke snowmobiles might possibly be finicky at times, especially in high load situations. The 4-stroke reverse is unchanged. For best results, use our Stage 2 Clutch Kit. (Follow the steps below to install your torsion kit for big performance gains!)

IMPORTANT - Read the entire instructions before proceeding. If any of it does not make sense or is not in your skillset, please have an experienced technician perform the install.

- Remove your left side panel to gain access to the secondary clutch.

- Using your belt removal tool, remove the belt from the secondary clutch.

- Remove your secondary clutch from the machine by unthreading the center bolt. Keep track of washers between the sheaves.

- Take your inner sheave to the bench and use a compression tool (Part#: BMP-BCCT) to put pressure on the helix (the helix is spring-loaded). Remove the 4 T-27 or T-25 (depending on the year) Torx bolts from the helix. Now loosen the compression tool and remove your helix/roller hub/spring.

- Remove the c-clips & rollers from your stock roller hub and install them on your BMP roller hub.

- Drill an l/4" hole as circled in image l. Insert your BMP torsion spring into the hole as shown in Image 2.

- Install your BMP roller hub in the desired hole position. This is normally hole# l. If purchased with a BMP clutch kit, please refer to your setup sheet.

- Install the helix on top of the roller hub lining it up correctly making sure the adjustment holes & spring can be seen like in Image 3.

- We suggest using the BMP Spring Adjust Tool (Part#: 05-102) for the next steps. Installation can be done without this tool, but it is more difficult.

- Thread your clutch compression tool down to compress the spring and helix into place. Using a screwdriver or your hands, you can give a slight twist to the helix (This part is easier with the BMP PN: 05-102 tool) and install the 4 Torx bolts. **Blue Loctite recommended**

- Install both clutch halves with the appropriate amount of deflection washers between them, then torque the secondary bolt to factory specs.

- Thread in your factory belt removal tool, install the belt, and go enjoy a faster, more responsive sled!
